The program won't start up even though i have:
* downloaded the newest flash, codecs, run it as admin, allow it on win7 firewall.

When i turned my avast off, it did the trick for some days ago. In this morning it didn't work. I have just tried to enter the program again and now it works. I have avast in silence/game mode.

Conclusion: There must be something else beside Avast, which is causing the problem.

Hi, lets try to understand, what it can be.
Please, can try this:
1. Go inside Internet Explorer’s Tools > Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings screen and uncheck "Automatically Detect Settings" ;
2. Try to restart program, and check problem;

I have the same issue and unchecking that thingy in internet explorer does not help. Program starts and it just stucks on that screen with the cool popcorn smiling pimp guy wearing sunglasses.

But after a bit, when i move my mouse around seems like its hovering over some buttons and I can click close button even though it's not visible and the program closes.

Guys, I had this exact same issue.

I found that it was my firewall that was blocking popcorn time from loading. I added PCT to my trusted files list and kablami. It loaded straight away.

Let me know how you get on.

I'm seeing this in Windows 8 as well.

Made sure I have the firewall open.
Have tried win7 and xp compat mode

It crashes immediately on startup

Firing up a debugger results in:

Unhandled exception at 0x5E8DB593 (libcef.dll) in PopcornTimeDesktop.exe: 0xC0000096: Privileged instruction.

Running as admin does nothing to change the behavior nor changes the stacktrace
