Hi Ampix0,

You can't donate to Popcorn Time because they don't need it and they do it just for fun and to make people like you and me happy ;) . The best way to support Popcorn Time is by sharing the software with all people you know.

Alec,

I truly understand works of passion. My concern is that with some of the technological leaps which are coming out within the next 6-12 months this project even if done by anonymous devs is going to need to go full time. There are three major projects which are independent of each other that are coming out in the very near future. These projects (MaidSafe, .p2p, SwarmCorp) are going to have a major impact on Popcorn Time.

With MaidSafe and Popcorn Time users will be able to more securely and reliably be able to share content. Add .p2p (http://dotp2p.io/) and it is literally something governments cant censor. The third project is SwarmCorp which may or may not directly affect Popcorn Time. SwarmCorp is a decentralized Peer2Peer crowd-funding platform. I can very easily see Popcorn Time replacing NetFlix as the place to go for original shows. Individuals or companies crowd-fund a movie or show, then release it for free on Popcorn Time.
I don't expect this all to happen tomorrow, yet as a tech enthusiast it is easy enough to see the trend.

Welcome to the Brave New World my friend.

As Alec wrote, I also asked them on their email how I can donate because it really looks like they're working very hard and as much as our admiration and thanks you's are awesome, they "don't pay the rent" and don't pay for what it costs them to maintain something of this magnitude...
Here's a bit of what they wrote back:
"...This is truly something we are doing because it's something we believe in. We come from this world of file sharing and we have experience when it comes to these kind of things... Also the servers that are hosting Popcorn Time are servers we already leased for other projects we're running, so it's no extra cost for us. That's why we don't want our users to shell our their money on this. We're happy to do this in our free time, this is what we love to do- develop awesome things. Proper geeks lol ;) The only donation we will ask of you is donating your voice in letting people know about Popcorn Time. This is honestly the best donation you can make to support this project and assure its bright future!!!"

I'm curious about how you know about these things that are going to happen, and why do you think it will effect them? Will it harm Popcorn Time? Sorry, I couldn't really understand from what you wrote what each development does and how it will effect Popcorn Time... And I'm curious about it... :)
